Our Manifesto

Who are we?

Botpresso is an SEO and GEO agency that builds ROI-driven organic marketing strategies for brands that aspire to be market leaders.

We help you increase your visibility on Google, LLMs, Reddit, YouTube, and more platforms where your buyers are searching. Technical foundations, content, digital PR, entity building, and presence on the platforms where your category gets discussed run as a single program rather than separate services.

This page is our thinking on that work. We have written it down so that clients, candidates, and the engines themselves can see how we operate before anyone gets on a call.

Why go on record?

Most brands are not invisible to AI engines. They are known, described roughly, and then left out of the recommendation when a buyer asks which option to choose. The distance between what a model knows about you and what it would need to know to recommend you is the gap we work on.

Pick any ten agency websites, and you will read the same handful of words. Data-driven. AI-native. Scale. Proprietary. None of it tells you how a team thinks and works behind the scenes, what they mean when they say AI-native - the actual tools powering the workflows- or what you really need to dominate SEO or AI search.

So we wrote our positions down instead. What we believe about how search and search behavior works now, how we run the operations to bring the results that matter, who we do our best work with, and where it isn’t the right fit. Some of this will age badly. When it does, we will update the page and note what changed.

There is a practical reason too. A page like this is the clearest thing a search agency can hand to a client, a candidate, or an LLM deciding what to say about us or whether we are the right partner for them. If we cannot make our own thinking readable, retrievable, and worth citing, you have no reason to trust us with yours.

How Search Actually Works Now

We have all seen search journeys become complex over the past few years with the blitzscaling of social and paid marketing across Google and Meta, which often meant an organic user converting via a retargeting ad and vice versa.

Over the past year, we saw a step change in this search behavior with ChatGPT, Instagram, Reddit, Google AI Mode, Claude, and the like also becoming a part of the search ecosystem.

And there’s enough data to back our observations:

Adobe Research

1 in 4

Research by Adobe states that one in four customers now treat AI platforms as their primary source when searching for information or making purchase decisions, ahead of brand websites and online reviews.

Forbes / GWI

67%

Forbes analysis of GWI data found 67% of Gen Z use Instagram for search, 62% use TikTok, and 61% also use Google. Which means all 3 platforms have near-identical share of search, showing multi-platform search behaviour is increasing.

Reddit Study

60%

Based on a US shoppers study by Reddit, 60% of people are more likely to trust Reddit to verify AI recommendations than they are to trust family or friends.

The Attribution Trap

What this effectively means is that you can have a visitor finding you initially via ChatGPT and ending up as a customer of yours through a paid ad. This means your attribution is telling you the wrong story.

The Discoverability Problem

Now this is considering you even show up for your buyer prompts in LLMs. For the vast majority, the problem is discoverability; meaning LLMs don’t even know when to recommend your brand or product.

GEO Deserves Its Own Budget

Which is why standard SEO strategy on its own won’t get you there. And GEO mandates don’t sit with SEO teams alone. Our most rewarding work in GEO for our clients has been a testament to the fact that GEO is a collective effort across SEO, brand, content, product, PR, and social media teams. And the learning from this is that GEO deserves its own separate budget within marketing.

GEO is SEO done right, plus four things SEO didn’t always focus on.

Most of what earns a citation in an AI answer is work the SEO industry has understood for years. Clean architecture, crawlable pages, content that answers the question properly. What genuinely changed is the weight of four disciplines that used to sit at the edges of a retainer: digital PR that ties your brand to a category, thought-leadership and SME content built to be quoted rather than clicked, building reputation and presence on platforms beyond Google like Reddit, YouTube and Instagram, where real users talk about brands, and entity work that teaches engines what you are. If an agency tells you GEO is a brand new discipline, ask them why they think so.

No engine cites a page it cannot read.

Retrieval comes before everything creative. If your JavaScript hides content from crawlers, your important pages sit four clicks deep, or your bot rules quietly block the crawlers that feed the models, nothing downstream matters. This is unglamorous work, and it is where most large sites are actually losing. We start here on every engagement, and we would rather spend the first six weeks fixing the foundation than publishing into a site that cannot be read.

Entities, not keywords.

Engines reason about things and the relationships between them. Your company, your product, your category, your competitors, the people who work for you, the partnerships and associations you build along the way. A keyword list describes what people typed. An entity map describes what a model believes about you and which sources those beliefs came from. The second one is what determines whether you enter the consideration set when someone asks a question nobody has typed before.

The buying journey is a cluster, not a funnel.

A buyer asks ChatGPT, checks a Reddit thread, reads a comparison page you do not own, watches a YouTube review, then searches your brand name on Google and might become a buyer by clicking on an ad. The order changes every time. Planning for a tidy sequence of stages produces a content plan that fits a diagram and misses the places the decision is actually made. We plan for the cluster, which usually means creating marketing strategies to be visible on platforms where your ICP spends time evaluating a solution for their problem outside your website.

What the web says about you matters more than what you say about yourself.

Models corroborate. A page that claims something with nothing to back the claim tends to get dropped somewhere between retrieval and the final answer. Third-party mentions, reviews, forum threads, industry comparisons, and press coverage decide whether a claim survives. Sentiment is part of the same picture. This is why tactics like digital PR and Reddit marketing have become a core part of GEO services.

Thinking only about traffic from AI search is close to a vanity metric.

In a zero-click world, models answer inside their own interface. Clicks fell sharply after AI Overviews rolled out, but for most brands revenue did not fall with them, which raised a fair question about whether traffic growth was ever the right KPI.

People read your content without ever arriving, and when they do arrive, the visit often gets attributed to direct or branded search. Counting sessions from AI engines will understate the work and mislead the board. The numbers we care about are whether you appear when a buyer asks, what the answer says about you, and whether qualified pipeline or revenue moves.

How We Work With Our Clients

  1. Principle 01

The advantage is context, not the model

Everyone has access to the same models. The output you get from them depends almost entirely on what goes in, and that is where the work actually lives. Before anything gets generated for your account, we have built a picture of your category, your competitors' real positions, the language your buyers use when they describe the problem, your funnel, and the technical constraints your team is working within. All of this happens with a combination of our proprietary tool stack built on the Search Everywhere optimization principles and with the expertise of our team of marketing strategists who have spent years working across multiple brands of different scales.

Thin context doesn’t necessarily produce work that looks wrong. It produces confident, well-written work which can be aimed at the wrong page, the wrong query and the wrong audience, which takes months to surface and a quarter to unwind. Getting the input right is where our effort goes. Generating is the easy part.

  2. Principle 02

We are AI-native, in the only sense that matters

The term gets thrown around a lot, so here is what it means in our work. Broader coverage, faster turnaround, and better outputs, backed by analysis that used to be too expensive to run at all. We automate tasks rather than roles, so our systems handle crawling, clustering, monitoring, and first-pass analysis while our strategists spend their time on the decisions that change outcomes.

The second half is less visible and matters more. Most agencies restart from zero on every account. We do not. Six years of technical audits, entity work, and AI-search testing across ecommerce, travel, SaaS, fintech, and edtech has become something closer to a working memory: which fixes actually moved visibility, which patterns repeat by platform, which recommendations looked right and did not hold up. Your program inherits all of it, and everything we learn on your account feeds the next one. That is the part that compounds. A tool subscription ends with the contract. Accumulated context stays.

  3. Principle 03

We are an extended arm of your marketing team

We invest early in understanding your brand, your buyers, your category, and the goals your team is actually accountable for, and we keep that picture current as things shift. Everything after that is a question of what moves the number. We prioritize ruthlessly toward organic metrics that convert into revenue, and we would rather kill a workstream that is not earning its retainer than keep it alive because it was in the original scope. We solve problems rather than route around them, which is the habit that makes teams start treating us like colleagues rather than a vendor. If you don’t believe us, ask our clients.

  4. Principle 04

We work with a Solution-First Mindset

We believe identifying or listing problems is an agency’s easiest job. An audit that runs to two hundred findings and no order of operations doesn’t help a brand when there are dozens of fires to put out every week. We bring you only the things that matter this quarter, what each one is worth, and who needs to do what - with the singular goal of moving your sales pipeline upward. Where something is blocked, we come with the workaround rather than the blocker. We understand that marketing budgets are secured based on real work, and we help you build that case for your management and board.

  5. Principle 05

    We are Proactive

When the SERP landscape is changing, when the search behavior is changing, when something on your site breaks in a way that will show up in six weeks, we tell you first, and we tell you what we are already doing about it. Waiting for the monthly call to raise something is a choice, and it is usually the wrong one.

  6. Principle 06

    We are Outcome Driven

We build strategies for results that show up in the bottom line. That requires the right team, assets, and approach, so we are direct about budget from the first conversation. It also means per-link or per-word pricing is the wrong way to judge our cost, because the value compounds over years.

The team behind that is made up of strategists who have run growth at scale and think in those terms by default, which is why the conversation with you tends to start at what the number needs to be rather than at what we could produce this month.

  7. Principle 07

We would rather lose the deal than oversell the timeline

Organic growth compounds. That is the whole reason it is worth investing in, and it also means the honest answer to "when will we see results?" is longer than a quarterly review cycle likes. Every campaign is one of two things: a growth story or a fixing story. We will tell you which one is yours and what timelines look like for realistic growth, before you sign. The alternative is a champion who promised a timeline internally on our word and has to explain themselves at month four.
